Corporate Social Responsibility
Trilogy International Partners ("Trilogy") actively engages in corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in all of the markets in which they have commercial operations, which today includes Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Bolivia. As a core value, we believe that doing well in business is about more than sales. Trilogy fundamentally believes that succeeding includes giving back to the communities in which we do business in impactful and sustainable ways.
Our company in Haiti, Voilà, is fully engaged in a wide spectrum of social investment projects all related to education. Through the Voilà Foundation's CSR platform, Education For Success, it funds and manages projects that provide youth from the poorest slums in the western hemisphere with the tools to build and enhance their lives. In Haiti, where they do not enjoy the benefit of free public education, so everyone must pay to attend all grades of school, Voilà is the largest corporate sponsor of children's tuition in the country, sponsoring 6,300 adolescents. We also fund university scholarships, soccer and basketball programs, environmental education, wireless computer labs, agricultural development, workshops on non-violence, theatre, and we mobilize to provide support during times of disaster.
Our Dominican Republic operation, Trilogy Dominicana, which is known commercially as Viva, funds and is fully engaged in supporting baseball tournaments in the metropolitan areas, which are of social and cultural significance in this country. The tournaments offer top-talent youth from slum neighborhoods the opportunity to showcase their talents to MLB scouts and to have a chance at a career in this country's national obsession, baseball. Tournaments keep young people occupied in fun activities that stimulate a sense of community and discourage delinquent activities. This helps give them hope and the skills needed to lead productive lives.
Our company in Bolivia, Nuevatel, which operates under the brand name Viva, contributes to the improvement of the living conditions of unprotected people through the support and development of social, educational, technology, environmental, safety, conservation and sports programs throughout the country. Through the Estás Vivo Foundation, projects are created to be engaging and life changing. We work with NGOs as well as government representatives to provide disadvantaged citizens and youth with the support they need to develop their lives.
